River Collective Debut Project Black River Bluegrass, Vol. 1 is Available Now

Nashville, Tenn., April 2: River Collective's debut project from Black River Publishing, the six-track Black River Bluegrass, Vol. 1, is out now.

A brainchild of Black River Publishing's Rebekah Gordon and the publishing company's artist/writer/producer Bryan Simpson, River Collective is a stream of talents joining together as an outlet to push past musical boundaries and foster creativity.

“Some songs, when removed from their element, fall apart. But great songs travel well. This collection is proof of it. And stripping 'em back to the bare bones of wood and wire as we did seemed to get to the heart and soul of the story the songs were always trying to tell," said Simpson. "Everyone who put their hand to this project had two things in mind: have fun and make great art. Mission accomplished, I believe."

“This has been such an amazing experience, watching these already proven hit songs transform into breathtaking, reimagined masterpieces," added Gordon. "Bryan and the world-class musicians you hear playing/singing on the record had so much fun during this process – you can feel all of that energy throughout the project.”

Produced by Simpson, the collection of reimagined number-one country songs features the lead vocal stylings and harmonies of Trey Hensley, Makayla Lynn, and Mason Via. Black River Bluegrass, Vol. 1 includes some of the genre's most iconic hits, such as the GRAMMY-nominated "Merry Go 'Round," originally recorded by Kacey Musgraves, offering a fresh, artistic view of the critically acclaimed tracks.
